Instructions
Make the Base:
- In a large bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and butter extract until the sugar is dissolved.
- Gradually whisk in the cake mix until fully incorporated.
Chill the Mixture:
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream:
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20–25 minutes).
Add Mix-ins:
- In the last 5 minutes of churning, fold in the rainbow sprinkles and crumbled cake pieces.
Freeze:
- Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4–6 hours until firm.
Notes
- You can use store-bought or homemade vanilla cake for the crumbled cake mix-in.
- No ice cream maker? Pour the mixture into a container and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for about 3 hours.
