Description

A creamy, fruity twist on classic banana pudding, this Strawberry Banana Pudding combines layers of fresh strawberries, bananas, vanilla wafers, and a rich, velvety pudding. It’s a perfect no-bake dessert for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

Pudding Layer:

  • 1 (5.1 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream (or 1 tub whipped topping)

Fruit & Layers:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 3 large bananas, sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafers (Nilla wafers or similar)

Topping (Optional):

  • Additional whipped cream
  • Crushed vanilla wafers
  • Fresh strawberry slices

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pudding Mixture

    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 2 minutes).
    • Stir in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  • Whip the Cream

    • In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.
    • Fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture gently until fully combined. (If using whipped topping, fold it in instead.)
  • Assemble the Layers

    • In a trifle dish or large serving bowl, spread a thin layer of pudding mixture at the bottom.
    • Add a layer of vanilla wafers, followed by a layer of sliced bananas and strawberries.
    • Spread a generous amount of pudding over the fruit.
    • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a pudding layer on top.
  •

Notes

  • For best results, use ripe but firm bananas to prevent them from getting too mushy.
  • Chilling overnight enhances the flavors and softens the wafers for a perfect texture.
  • You can substitute graham crackers or shortbread cookies for vanilla wafers.
  • To prevent bananas from browning, toss them lightly in lemon juice before layering.
