Description

Ingredients

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Dough:

  • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
  • Add the yeast mixture and vanilla extract, then mix until a dough forms.

2️⃣ Knead & Rise:

  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

3️⃣ Shape the Bagels:

  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions.
  • Shape each portion into a ball, then poke a hole in the center and stretch it slightly.
  • Let the shaped bagels rest for 15 minutes.

4️⃣ Boil the Bagels:

  • Bring 8 cups of water to a boil and add honey or brown sugar.
  • Boil each bagel for 30-45 seconds per side, then place them on a lined baking sheet.

5️⃣ Bake the Bagels:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Brush each bagel with egg wash and sprinkle extra freeze-dried strawberries if desired.
