- 4 tbsp (57g) unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup (50g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp (12g) granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ⅛ tsp salt
- ½ cup + 1 tbsp (70g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (45g) chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in baking soda, salt, and flour until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop & Bake: Scoop dough into 6 equal portions, place on the baking sheet, and slightly flatten. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are golden but the center looks soft.
- Cool & Enjoy: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or at room temp!

- Butter Temperature: If your butter is too hot, let it cool slightly before adding the sugar.
