- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 sub rolls
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (or American cheese)
- ½ cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- ¼ cup sliced pickles
- ¼ cup diced onions
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions
Prepare the Beef:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
- Drain any excess grease and set aside.
Toast the Rolls:
- Spread butter on the inside of the sub rolls and toast them on a skillet or in the oven until golden brown.
Assemble the Subs:
- Divide the cooked beef among the toasted sub rolls.
- Place a slice of cheese on top of each and let it melt slightly.
- Add lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and diced onions.
Add Condiments:
- Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the top half of the roll.
Serve & Enjoy:
- Close the sub and serve warm. Enjoy with fries or chips!
Notes
- You can swap out cheddar for provolone, Swiss, or pepper jack cheese.
- Add crispy bacon for extra flavor!
- Use lean ground beef (80/20) for the best balance of flavor and juiciness.
